Nutrition Consulting

Nutrition consulting can be offered by personal trainers as an additional service. If your personal trainer offers nutrition consulting, it can be a great bonus, particularly if your fitness goals include weight loss or weight gain.

Here at Invictus Fitness, we combine nutrition consulting with our customized fitness plans. We’ve spent many years studying nutrition and its effect on our clients in conjunction with our personal training programs, and as such, we’ve developed a deep understanding of how proper nutrition can increase your chances of success with your overall training.

As a culture that’s become addicted to instant gratification, we’ve fallen into many traps with nutrition, translating to a reliance on empty calories, fatty foods and consumables with no substance. These can make us overweight and lethargic, or underweight and malnourished.

A nutrition consultant provides sound nutritional and health advice to clients. This includes planning well-balanced meals, advising on best nutrition practices, suggesting lifestyle changes, and sometimes even preparing the food themselves.

By understanding the value of good nutrition, your personal trainer can help you create a nutrition plan that compliments your fitness plan and fits your specific needs and goals. At Invictus Fitness, our personal trainers work with you to understand proper portion control, healthy eating habits, how food plays into your fitness, and how to make healthier choices when it comes to food.

How is nutrition consulting different than working with a nutritionist?

Personal trainers who incorporate nutrition consulting into their programs work slightly different than a nutritionist; personal trainers will typically combine principles of both fitness and nutrition. In doing so, they’ll review your current eating habits and goals, whether that be weight loss, weight gain, endurance, muscle building and/or preventing future health issues. From there, they’ll help you create a proper nutrition plan that will compliment your fitness regimen. You’ll also learn what foods to eat before and after a workout.

Nutrition consulting can help you understand your relationship with food and what will work best for you in the end. If you have a health condition, working with a nutrition counselor can help you develop an effective strategy to confront dietary challenges while improving your health and well-being.

Nutrition consulting is beneficial for anyone interested in improving their overall health and well-being. You’ll be asked to provide information to help the consultant make a nutrition assessment, including personal and lifestyle goals to help help you understand unhealthy patterns. Your personal trainer/nutritional consultant will also educate you on foods and how they affect the body and how they can compliment or prevent you from achieving your fitness goals.

In addition to combined personal training and nutrition consulting, Invictus Fitness offers the following Nutrition 101 Crash Course. This custom-designed course helps you understand the best practices and habits to help you reach your personal goals.
